Education is a fundamental right for everyone. However is that right being challenged in today’s society? Are the rights of those who are entitled to fair education being infringed upon due to policy and funding? These concerns are not only of today’s parents and future parents. These are also concerns of current students who are striving to obtain and maintain an education. Our economic standards are changing and could a fair education for the poor be on the brink of extinction? Extinction seems like a harsh word to refer to the condition of our current education system. Nevertheless, we need to use descriptive words to express ourselves, in order to get the message across to those who are blind and deaf to what is happening to our American education system. So what are our leaders doing about our education system? In my opinion they are not doing enough. Let’s start by taking a look at our history of education system, what is our education report card, educatio n reform, and in conclusion the cost of education.
